Attorney Kathy W. Richardson

Kathy has been practicing law since 1992, and is the founder of Kathy S. Williams P.L.L.C. Born to a military U.S. family in Okinawa, Japan, she grew up as the second child in a household with three brothers. She graduated from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina in 1987. While she was there, she gained a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Army Reserves.

She then went on to law school at Wake Forest School of Law in Winston-Salem, NC. After a one-year interruption in her studies for active duty service in Desert Shield and Desert Storm in 1990-1991, she graduated from Wake Forest School of Law in 1992. She was licensed as an attorney in August 1992.

After a Position as Assistant Public Defender in Gastonia, she moved to Durham in 1994, and served as an Assistant Public Defender here for two years. She then left the Public Defender’s office to open the Law Office of Kathy Williams in April of 1996. Also in 1996, she resigned from the Army Reserves after serving nine years on active duty and in the Reserves, and having attained the rank of Captain. In the summer of 1999, she married Thurman Richardson, Jr. and changed her name from Kathy S. Williams to Kathy Williams Richardson.

Ms. Richardson was extremely helpful and professional. Not only did she get one case dismissed, she also got a reduction of costs in reference to my case. I would definitely use her again if another issue arises that needs legal attention, and I recommend anyone going through legal woes to contact her. You won't be disappointed.

Ms. Richardson is very professional & works hard for her clients, she explains the case from all areas and what she can do to get you the best outcome! she is DEFINITELY MY LAWYER FOR LIFE IF NEEDED!

-Robert C.

I recently had two cases of tenant relationships that required Ms. Richardson's intervention. One was a complicated eviction. Ms. Richardson's efforts were considerable and yet no additional fees were requested. The second case was less complicated than anticipated. Ms. Richardson promptly returned the portion of the retainer to which she did not feel entitled, without my asking her to do. I appreciated both her competence and financial integrity in these matters. Review

Kathy is a very knowledgeable and experienced attorney. She's friendly, warm and kindhearted. She does an excellent job for her clients!

I must say. This lady right here got my life back LOL. One day i was at work and i pulled her up on google for an attorney in the area because i needed my license back. After waiting for a long time. I hired her and she handled my court case and then some. I would recommend you to hire her if you have any traffic related matters.
