Attorney Theresa A. Lyons
Terry graduated from Rutgers School of Law with High Honors. She also has a Master’s Degree in Social Work. Ms. Lyons enjoyed a judicial clerkship with The Honorable Peter G. Verniero, a now-retired Justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court, New Jersey’s highest state court. Ms. Lyons has authored and published numerous articles on a wide variety of topics like family law, the admissibility of expert testimony in federal courts, and free speech on the Internet. She also is author of the book Sticks and Stones, Life Lessons from a Lawyer. Ms. Lyons was featured in over 250 news media outlets across the globe. In addition to practicing matrimonial law and being a founding member of the firm, Ms. Lyons served as a part-time lecturer at Rutgers University in the Graduate School of Social Work in New Brunswick where she has taught, “Law and Social Work,” a course dedicated to informing social work students about the law, including the parameters of client confidentialities, how to respond to subpoenas, and how to testify in court. In her personal life, Ms. Lyons is a foster and adoptive parent to New Jersey’s abused and neglected children, and she has ongoing contact with the courts and the Division of Youth and Family Services in that regard.
Attorney David F. Salvaggio
Lyons & Associates, P.C. is honored that David Salvaggio chose to continue his very successful family law practice by joining its team of professionals in September 2018 as Senior Counsel.
David received his law degree from Rutgers Law School, where he was an editor of the Rutgers Law Review. After being selected for and completing a judicial clerkship for the Assignment Judge in Somerset County, David embarked upon a legal career that has now encompassed over 40 years.
David has been instrumental in developing alternatives to traditional litigation as a means of resolving legal disputes in Family Law matters. He is a Past President and a current Executive Board member of the New Jersey Collaborative Law Group and played a key role in the passage of the New Jersey Family Collaborative Law Act in 2014. Collaborative Divorce emphasizes communication and cooperation, rather than conflict, and has as its goal a resolution of all issues which best meets each party’s individual needs as well as the needs of their children, without the intervention of the court system.
Attorney Joanna R. Adu, Esq.
Joanna chairs the Finance and Estate Planning Practice at the firm. Her areas of practice include corporate litigation and consultation, and wills, trusts and estates. Further, Joanna’s matrimonial and family law practice focuses on matters including appellate practice, special needs families and Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs), and more.
In 2020, Joanna was selected as a New Jersey Super Lawyers Rising Star for her work in family law. Joanna has also presented at various professional continuing education courses in family law conducted by the New Jersey Association of Justice (NJAJ) on matters including child support, pet custody and ethics, among others.
In her personal life, Joanna is the parent of a child with special needs. As a special needs parent, Joanna has an innate understanding of the issues and concerns of special needs families, including providing for their future care through a special needs trusts, family law issues involving special needs children, and guardianship petitions.
Attorney Marie T. Bucci, Esq.
Marie received her undergraduate degree from Rutgers University with a double major in Criminal Justice and Sociology and a double minor in Criminology and Spanish. In 2013, she studied abroad at the University of Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain. She received her Juris Doctorate in 2018 from Rutgers Law School. While in law school, Marie served as a student attorney for the Rutgers Child Advocacy Clinic, where she provided representation for children in administrative proceedings and in obtaining special immigrant juvenile status. Marie also served as an intern at the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, Department of Children and Families, where she worked on appeals regarding the termination of parental rights.
After graduating from Rutgers Law School, Marie enjoyed a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Andrea I. Marshall, of the Monmouth County Superior Court, Family Part. During her clerkship, Marie was responsible for assisting with various family matters, including divorce, post judgment matters, and domestic violence proceedings. She also regularly mediated non-dissolution matters, involving parents who are not legally married or other adults filing for court relief on behalf of minor children.
As a practicing attorney, Marie has focused on domestic violence trials, high asset divorces, custody and parenting time disputes, and pendente lite and post-judgment motions regarding a variety of matrimonial issues. Marie is admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey.
Attorney Marissa Del Mauro
Marissa received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Vassar College and received her Juris Doctor from Western New England College School of Law.
After graduating from law school, Marissa enjoyed a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Kimarie Rahill, J.S.C., of the Warren County Superior Court, Family Part. During her clerkship, Marissa was responsible for various family matters, including matrimonial, non-dissolution, domestic violence and juvenile cases. She also regularly mediated custody, parenting time, and child support for non-dissolution cases.
Marissa has represented clients in all aspects of family law matters, including the areas of divorce, child custody and support, grandparent visitation, domestic violence, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, post judgment litigation, same sex couples dissolution, and adoptions. Marissa approaches every case with zealous advocacy while working alongside with her clients to guide them to a result that not only serves the client’s best interests but also, when applicable, the children’s best interests.
Attorney Mark T. Gabriel
Mark is a senior associate at the firm focusing his practice on complex matrimonial and family law related matters including but not limited to divorce, property division, alimony, child custody and parenting time issues, child support, adoption, post-judgment litigation, prenuptial agreements, appellate practice, abuse and neglect, and domestic violence.
In 2020, Mark was awarded the designation of Certified Matrimonial Attorney by the Supreme Court of New Jersey, which is a designation achieved by only 2% of attorneys in the State of New Jersey. In 2018, the Supreme Court of New Jersey also appointed Mark to the District IX (Monmouth County) Fee Arbitration Committee for a four-year term. In 2020, Mark was named as a Rising Star by New Jersey Super Lawyers. This honor, as one of the top young lawyers in the State of New Jersey, is bestowed on less than 3% of all attorneys in the state. Mark is admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey, the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey, and the State of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Somerset County Bar Association, and the Monmouth County Bar Association where he is a member of the Diversity Committee, Juvenile Law Committee, and the Mock Trial Committee.
Attorney Thomas F. Gilbert
Thomas Gilbert is an associate attorney licensed in both New Jersey and Florida. Mr. Gilbert received bachelor’s degree in secondary education and social sciences from the University of Tampa and his J.D. from the Thomas M. Cooley School of Law. While pursuing his law degree, Mr. Gilbert interned at the St. Michael’s Legal Center, a pro bono legal clinic focusing on family law issues.
After graduating from Cooley, Mr. Gilbert served as the Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Bradford M. Bury, J.S.C. in the Family Division of the New Jersey Superior Court. During his clerkship, Mr. Gilbert conducted legal research, analyzed legal data, and prepared legal memoranda for Judge Bury. He also conducted many successful parenting time mediations in non-dissolution cases. After his clerkship, Mr. Gilbert worked in private practice at a midsize family law firm in Morris County before joining Lyons & Associates. Well-versed in the latest developments in the law, Mr. Gilbert is adept at guiding clients to address their plans for both the short- and long-term consequences of Family Court proceedings.
Attorney William P. Lemega
Mr. Lemega is a principal and the managing partner for the firm’s Morristown office. He is a graduate of the University of Scranton and New England Law – Boston. After graduating law school, he enjoyed a one-year judicial clerkship for the Honorable Thomas J. Critchley, Jr., J.S.C., in the Morris County Superior Court, Family Part. Since then, he has devoted his private practice exclusively to matrimonial and family law matters.
Mr. Lemega is a skilled trial attorney who focuses his practice on complex matrimonial and family law matters. Attorney Nicole L. Rohan, Esq.
Nicole received her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in criminal justice from Marist College in 2016. She received her juris doctorate in 2019 from Rutgers Law School While in law school, Nicole served as a student-advocate in the Civil Justice Clinic where she represented indigent clients filing for social security benefits. Nicole also served as a Deborah T. Poritz Summer Fellow with Legal Services of New Jersey, where she was placed at Advocates for Children of New Jersey and South Jersey Legal Services respectively. At South Jersey Legal Services, she assisted the staff attorney assigned to family matters with primarily domestic violence matters as well as divorce matters.
After graduating law school, Nicole enjoyed a judicial clerkship with the Honorable Angela White Dalton, J.S.C. of the Monmouth County Superior Court, Family Part. During her clerkship, Nicole was responsible for managing and assisting Judge Dalton’s domestic violence, divorce, and post-divorce calendars. She also conducted many successful parenting time mediations in non-dissolution cases.
