Attorney Kenneth C. Hensley
Kenneth C. Hensley was born in Bethany, Missouri. He attended Albany High School where he graduated in 1973. A graduate of William Jewell College he went on to attend law school at UMKC where he graduated in 1979. He attended graduate school at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut.
Hensley served as Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Clay County, Missouri from 1979-1981 and again in 1984-1985. Over the course of his career he has served as Special Prosecutor in Caldwell County, Livingston County and Jackson County.
He appears frequently in the counties in Northern Missouri such as Gentry, Harrison, DeKalb, Daviess, Worth, Clay, Platte and Jackson County. He has successfully tried jury trials in Federal Court. Hensley has devoted his practice to all areas of criminal defense, from traffic offenses to violent crimes. Hensley has successfully represented clients in municipal courts, Missouri state courts, federal courts, the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit and the Supreme Court of Missouri.
Hensley is a member of the Missouri Bar, U.S. Court of Federal Claims. He served as Adjunct Professor at William Jewell College from 1981-2008. He is admitted to practice law in the U.S. District Court Western Missouri and Federal District Court in Kansas
Attorney Teresa L. Hensley
Teresa Hensley has deep roots in Cass County, graduating from Raymore-Peculiar High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from William Jewell College and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri Kansas City Law School in 1991.
Hensley is a former member of the Missouri Child Abuse and Neglect Review Board (2003 to 2006). She is a former board member of the abuse shelter, Hope Haven (2006 to 2010). Hensley is a certified family law mediator. She has taught social studies at Leavenworth Public Schools in the Alternative Program and criminal law at William Jewell College.
She was appointed to the position of Cass County Prosecutor in January of 2005, was elected to the position in November of 2006 and again in 2010. She served as Cass County Prosecutor for 10 years.
Hensley received the 2010 Missouri Attorney General's Justice Award for Domestic Violence Prevention. She received the 2015 Missouri Lawyers Weekly Public Servant Award and was the 2016 Democratic nominee for Missouri Attorney General (the first woman from either party to be on the Missouri general ballot for that position). As prosecutor, Teresa initiated the Child Abuse Response Team, the Fire Investigation Team, and the DWI Task Force. She received the 2008 and 2014 Woman of the Year Award from Harrisonville Business Women, the 2008 Paul Harris Fellow Award from Harrisonville Rotary, and a 2010 and 2011 Appreciation Award for her presentations to the U. S. Marine Corp. Recruiting Services Families.
Teresa initiated and completed the first ever DWI Consensual Blood Draw MOA combining the efforts on the part of five Fire Districts of Cass County and the Missouri State Highway Patrol in 2009. She was a member of the Harrisonville Rotary (2005-2015), Bel-Ray Sunrise Lions (2005-20015), and Raymore Alderman and Planning and Zoning (1991). She has presented programs on Senior Protection, Women's Self Protection, Keeping Children Safe, and a High School Driving Program.
Except for her 10 years in the Cass County Prosecutor's Office, Teresa has practiced with her husband of 40 years in their law firm together in Raymore since 1991. Kenny Hensley has been a Missouri lawyer since 1979. Attorneys in the Hensley Law Office include Wyatt Roberts of 15 years and Nik Busch a recent hire.
Attorney Wyatt Z. Roberts
Wyatt was born and raised in Chillicothe, Missouri. Growing up, he enjoyed playing sports and music, and participating in Boy Scouts. After graduating from Chillicothe High School in 1999, Wyatt went on to college at Truman State University, in Kirksville, Missouri. While at TSU, he studied Justice Systems, was named to the Dean's List, and earned his bachelor's degree in 2003.
Following his undergraduate education, he attended law school at The University of Missouri - Kansas City. During his law school education, Wyatt was named to the Dean's list, and served as a staff member on the UMKC Law Review. Also while in law school, he worked as an intern for the United States Attorney's Office for the Western District of Missouri, Hensley Law Office, and Daniel R. Brown. Wyatt earned his Juris Doctor degree in 2006, and was proud to join Hensley Law Office as an attorney.
Wyatt's devotes his practice to all areas of criminal defense, from traffic offenses to violent crimes. Wyatt also has extensive experience representing clients in civil litigation and administrative matters. Wyatt is licensed to practice in the State of Missouri and in federal court. Wyatt has successfully represented clients in municipal courts, Missouri state courts, federal courts, the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of Missouri.
In his personal life, Wyatt enjoys spending time with his family and friends, maintaining an active lifestyle playing tennis, and traveling.
Attorney Nikolaus S. Busch
Nik Busch joined Hensley Law Office in 2019 after graduating from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Law School in 2018, where he was a member of numerous organizations and was named to the Dean's List.
Prior to joining the Hensley Law Office team, Nik spent the prior ten years working in the Athletic Department at UMKC where he served in the Communications Department. At UMKC, Nik began as a graduate assist and, earning his Master's degree in Public Administration, and worked his way up to leading the department before departing to pursue his career in law.
Currently Nik is a member of the Cass County Bar Association, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, and the American Bar Association while being licensed in Missouri and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri.
Nik came to the Kansas City area from Indiana in 2009 where he worked in the IndyCar series and for the Indiana High School Athletic Association after graduating from Indiana University with his Bachelor's degree.
