June 2012 – Hennepin County District Court – 2 Counts Gross Misdemeanor Third Degree DWI/DUI – Potential penalty was 360 days in jail and / or a fine of up to $3,000 on each county. Mr. Martin was able to reach a deal with the City Attorney where our client was able to perform Sentence to Service (Community Service) rather than serve jail time or pay a fine, dismiss the gross misdemeanor charges, follow terms of probation, and plead guilty to a reduced charge of Fourth Degree DWI, a misdemeanor, thereby avoiding a gross misdemeanor conviction.
May 2012 – Crow Wing County District Court – 2 Counts Gross Misdemeanor Third Degree DWI/DUI – Potential penalty was 360 days in jail and / or a fine of up to $3,000 on each county. Mr. Martin negotiated with the County Attorney and reached a deal where our client was able to perform community service rather than serve jail time, have one gross misdemeanor charge dismissed, pay a fine of $720, follow terms of probation, and plead guilty to a reduced charge of Fourth Degree DWI, a misdemeanor, thereby avoiding a gross misdemeanor conviction.
January 2012 – Scott County District Court – Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana in a Motor Vehicle – Potential penalty was 90 days in jail and / or a fine of up to $1,000, plus 6 month driver’s license suspension. Mr. Martin was able to negotiate a deal where our client was able to avoid jail time, avoid any driver’s license suspension, have the misdemeanor charge dismissed, pay a fine of $135, and plead guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia, a petty misdemeanor, thereby avoiding any criminal conviction.
