Attorney Matthew A. Porter
Our Founder and President, Attorney Matthew Porter, has spent the past 27 years litigating in courtrooms all over the country. He has represented individuals and corporations in countless areas of the law, including labor and employment, personal injury, bankruptcy, criminal, corporate, intellectual property, real estate, and securities transactions. He has represented individuals, mom and pop businesses, and Fortune 500 companies.
Attorney Porter is also a trained mediator and skilled negotiator, and has negotiated tens of millions of dollars in settlements, both for plaintiffs and defendants, individuals and corporations.
Attorney Porter has mentored many other lawyers over his career, serving as an instructor for the Harvard Law School trial advocacy program and an attorney advisor to the Boston University School of Law Legal Aid Clinic. He has also served as Litigation Manager and Hiring Partner for two major national law firms.
Attorney Porter’s academic record is top notch, graduating from Boston University School of Law with High Honors, while being elected Executive Editor of the prestigious Boston University Law Review and winning three separate “book awards” after achieving the top grade in his class. Attorney Porter graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Boston with Honors while starting for the Beacons’ NCAA Division 3 Men’s Lacrosse Team.
Attorney Porter began his professional career by launching a start up direct marketing firm, Accord Communications in Norwell, Massachusetts, and serving as its Sales Manager before attending law school. So he understands the particular cares and concerns of small businesspeople and entrepreneurs. Attorney Porter wore a blue collar before donning a white one, working his way through high school and college as a janitor, dishwasher, laborer, and landscaper, so he is not afraid of hard work or getting his hands dirty in order to zealously advocate for his clients in order to get the job done.
