Attorney Carolyn Small Grant 
Cari Small Grant is a graduate of Indiana University and Valparaiso University School of Law. She is a litigation partner with more than 30 years of trial experience in state and federal court, including the Indiana Supreme Court and 7th Circuit Court of Appeals.
She is admitted to practice in Indiana and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. Prior to joining Grant & Grant, Cari served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana where she practiced civil litigation in the areas of complex torts and medical malpractice.
Cari has argued cases before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the Indiana Court of Appeals and has numerous published opinions.
Cari has taught seminars for the Indianapolis Bar Association, Indianapolis Bar Foundation, the U.S. Department of Justice (Trial Advocacy) and at the NASP Litigation Skills Conference.
She is a member and past officer and board member of the Indianapolis Bar Association and is a member of and has served on the Board of Directors of the National Association of Subrogation Professionals (NASP) as well numerous philanthropic community organizations.
Attorney Robert G. Grant
Rob Grant is a graduate of Indiana University (economics) and is a graduate of its law school. His practice areas include Litigation, Subrogation, Creditors Rights, Estate Planning and Probate, and Corporate Business Matters.
He is admitted to practice in Indiana, including all federal courts, the United States Tax Court, United States Court of Military Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Rob served as an instructor at Indiana University for 18 years in the area of wills, trusts and estate planning and has served as an instructor in numerous continuing legal education courses in the areas of creditor’s rights, subrogation and probate practice for the Indianapolis Bar Association, Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum (ICLEF) and the National Association of Subrogation Professionals (NASP).
Rob is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association, the National Association of Subrogation Professionals and served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Greater Indiana Alzheimers Association. He is a veteran of both the Army and Air Force.
Attorney T. Blake Orner
Blake’s practice is focused on Litigation, Subrogation, Personal Injury, and Estate Planning and Probate. He represents many national and regional insurance carriers in complex subrogation litigation, including large structural fires for commercial and residential property, construction defects, and products liability.
Licensed to practice in both Indiana and Illinois, Blake has represented his clients in both state and federal court. As part of his practice, Blake coordinates the litigation of subrogation claims with law firms for matters arising in other states throughout the country, as well as being retained by out-of-state law firms to serve as local counsel in Indiana and Illinois.
Blake is a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association and serves on its Litigation Section Executive Committee. He is also a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and National Association of Subrogation Professionals (NASP).
An active volunteer in his community, Blake served as President of his Homeowners Association for five years and is a volunteer coach for youth sports in his community. He is a current board member on the Plainfield Optimist Baseball Board and is an avid tennis player.
Attorney Patrick D. Lockhart
While an undergraduate student at Indiana University, Patrick Lockhart was involved in student government and ran for Indiana State Representative. After graduation, Pat was a licensed loan officer for residential mortgages.
Pat graduated from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. During law school, Pat was on the Dean’s List and participated in the Honorable Robert H. Stanton Moot Court Competition, and was named to the Order of the Barristers.
While in law school, Pat worked with in-house counsel at a national insurance company. He also became a registered lobbyist during an internship in government services and he assisted with implementing administrative rules while interning at a state agency.
At Grant & Grant, Pat’s practice is focused on civil litigation, including motor vehicle and property insurance subrogation.
Pat is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Indiana and is a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association and the Indiana State Bar Association.
