My firm focuses on criminal defense cases and family law. I realize that both practice areas involve sensitive circumstances, and I handle them with the utmost care.
If you are facing criminal charges, I can help you with a variety of matters ranging from misdemeanors to major felonies.
My work serving clients with family legal matters includes actions ranging from divorce to guardianship to adoption.
As an attorney, I am a strong advocate for negotiation as a path to eliminating legal conflicts. However, when necessary, I will not hesitate to take your case to trial if that is the best place to resolve it.

I am Sheila Shoemake, and my law firm, the Shoemake Law Firm, blends my Oklahoma roots with my experiences teaching, learning and living in diverse environments.
I come from a legal family. My brother is a lawyer and my father practiced as an attorney in Pawhuska. My grandfather served as a judge in Bryan County. My dad represented clients from many walks of life, and I realized early in life that lawyers provide powerful representation for ordinary people facing legal challenges.
Before getting my law degree, I taught French and Spanish at Langston University and was head of the foreign language department at Del Mar College. I'm fluent in Spanish, a skill which was honed by living in Mexico for several years. As a lawyer, my understanding of my Spanish-speaking clients and the Hispanic culture has been enhanced by these life experiences.
I am a graduate of Oklahoma City University's law school, and prior to opening my own law practice, I worked as a public defender. I strongly believe in the power of proper legal representation to serve clients who are facing challenging criminal law or family law situations.
