$4.5 Million - Reportedly the largest Connecticut Workers' Compensation settlement awarded, on behalf of a 19 YEAR OLD undocumented worker who fell from a roof during the course of his labor and was left paralyzed. The $4.5 Million settlement was reached after several years when the injured worker expressed a desire to move back to Guatemala to be closer to family. The award included the purchase and renovation of suitable housing and provisions for ongoing medical care.

Successful defense and court ordered reinstatement of local police officer, whom the municipality was attempting to terminate for alleged non-disclosed medical issues.


Significant Confidential Settlement - Husband-and-wife driving to their ski condo in Killington, Vermont. Their car struck an 1800 pound bull, which was standing on the state road in Killington. Driver killed at the scene. The owner of the bull was aware that the bull would often escape from the farm and wander onto the road. The owner of the bull was indicted for involuntary manslaughter. A claim was made against the owner of the bull for the death of the operator of the car. The case was resolved before litigation for a substantial and confidential amount.
