The Law Office of Mary Lou Martin, P.C., helps people in estate planning, elder law and immigration matters. At first, these areas of the law may seem to be very different from each other, but in fact they share something very important in common: They all focus on the future.
When I work with immigration matters, I help individuals and families to put their legal troubles behind them so that they can begin their new lives in the United States. When I help clients with elder law matters, I help them deal with and prepare for the changes that life brings. In estate planning matters, I help my clients to build a legacy that will last for years or even decades to come.

The road I traveled to get to my law practice had an unconventional beginning. I started off having graduated as a 19 year old dental hygienist. I worked in the field of Dentistry and obtained my B.S. in Education and taught dental hygiene at Missouri Southern State College. I then secured an M.S. in Education and worked as a Health Care Coordinator at a Head Start Program. It was at Head Start where I developed my heart for helping children and families. I worked closely with emotionally, physically, and sexually abused children. This experience helped to shape my knowledge of family dynamics, which has proven invaluable in my family law practice.
I started law school in 1985 at the University of Missouri in Kansas City while simultaneously raising a family. I have had my own law practice for the last 14 years and have found that my past educational, professional land family experiences have all contributed to my success.
