Julie Scott is licensed to practice law in California and Missouri and prosecutes patents throughout the United States. She received her law degree from the University of Texas in Austin. Prior to becoming an attorney, Julie Scott was a research scientist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and conducted postdoctoral studies at the University of Arizona in Tucson and the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta. She received her Ph.D. in Entomology from Texas A&M University in College Station, her M.S. in Entomology from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and her B.S., magna cum laude, in Wildlife & Fisheries Sciences from Texas A&M University in College Station. Her research focused on the biochemistry associated with metabolizing insecticides; the genetics associated with resistance to insecticides; and the development of technologies to detect resistance.
