We bring over thirty years of combined experience litigating employment matters, including complex class actions, in California state and federal courts. After years of advising California employers on how to navigate employment laws, we know that they often get it wrong. Our experience on the other side gives us invaluable insight as to how employers handle these matters, what scares them, and how they will value your claims. Our mission is to collaborate as a team to put this expertise to work for you.

Attorney Beth Gunn

Growing up as the only girl with five brothers, Beth learned from an early age that her life would require boldness, strategic thinking, and a willingness to fight when necessary.  For almost two decades, she has channeled these skills into her role as an advisor and advocate who combines creativity and practical savvy to best advise her clients and fight tirelessly for them.
After the 2016 presidential election and participating in the Women's March in January 2017, Beth felt compelled to use her talents where she thinks they are most needed - to fight for the rights of women and others who have been deprived of the advantages and equity promised by the laws of our state and country.  As a result, she and Cathy founded Gunn Coble to "fight the good fight" for which she has spent her whole life training.
As part of her preparation, Beth practiced as a shareholder at a national employment defense law firm, where she gained invaluable first-hand insight into the way employers make decisions and deal with employee problems.  Now that she represents employees, Beth can use that knowledge to her clients' benefit.  She has handled all types of employment matters, at the various stages of litigation through arbitration/trial, in a wide-ranging variety of industries.  In addition to her focus on complex class action litigation, Beth continually strives to push the boundaries of the law, including high-level practice in the California and federal courts of appeal.

Attorney Cathy Coble

Cathy has over 15 years’ experience litigating employment claims in California. After years of defending and advising employers, Cathy came to the realization that she was frequently on the wrong side of an issue and that employees were often not receiving the representation they deserved.
Drawing on her passion for social justice and women’s rights, Cathy is thrilled to bring her years of experience to work for employees. Together with Beth, she pledges to help employee clients obtain the respect, compensation and justice to which they are entitled under the law.
Prior to founding Gunn Coble, Cathy was a shareholder at a national employment defense firm, where she handled sexual harassment, gender discrimination, disability discrimination, pregnancy discrimination, wrongful termination, age discrimination, retaliation, breach of contract, and wage and hour claims. As a mother to two young children, Cathy understands the particular challenges working parents and pregnant employees can face. Assisting clients with gender discrimination and pay equity claims are a particular calling for her.
Cathy has seen cases through every stage of the process, from pre-litigation negotiations through discovery, administrative hearings, motion practice, mediation, arbitration/trial and appeals. While pre-lawsuit settlement negotiations are often the best option for employees and employers, sometimes litigation is necessary and Cathy loves fighting the good fight.
