US Department Of Labor
The US Department of Labor is a federal, cabinet-level agency that oversees all aspects of the workplace. Within its many branches, the bureau handled matters related to workplace safety, discrimination, wage and hour matters, collective bargaining and other union activities among other things. The US Department of Labor promulgates administrative rulings, conducts hearings, issues policies and litigates cases relating to all of these matters. Among the familiar branches of the bureau are OSHA and the NLRB. Many states have a bureau that fulfills similar roles at the state level.
