Tenant Rights
Tenant rights are legal rights that people renting property enjoy. Most tenant rights law is local, for example at the county or municipal. However, many states also have laws that govern tenant rights. Tenant rights can involve issues about what happens when rent is not paid on time; what happens when a home or office is damaged or otherwise cannot be used for the intended purpose; what happens when an owner of property wants to cancel a lease; and what happens when a tenant moves out of an apartment or office and is charged for damages. Many attorneys practice in the field of tenant rights and can offer very practical counsel to people impacted by landlord-tenant issues.
