Medical marijuana has been legalized or decriminalized in 14 states including: include Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington. Other states have legislation pending or other strong movement toward legalizing the use, possession, cultivation, and distribution of medical marijuana. However, marijuana remains an illegal drug under federal law.
