The following are a few representative cases recently prosecuted
by Krutch, Lindell, Bingham, Jones & Petrie, P.S.:
- The Firm represented the bereaved families of several
passengers who lost their lives on Alaska Airlines Flight 261 when
it crashed off the California coast. The disaster involved a
McDonald Douglas MD-83 aircraft on which the jackscrew operating
the horizontal stabilizer failed. Krutch, Lindell, Bingham, Jones & Petrie, P.S. filed cases in
California and in Washington against Boeing Commercial Aircraft
Company and Alaska Airlines, along with a number of other
defendants. Ultimately, the case was resolved without trial through
dynamic and effective settlement negotiations by Krutch, Lindell, Bingham, Jones & Petrie, P.S.
attorneys. Although the settlement documents included a
confidentiality clause, the dollar amount received by each Krutch
Lindell client was substantial.
- In the case of Genther, et al. v. Holland America Lines,
Turismo Aviomar, and Aero Ferinc, Krutch, Lindell, Bingham, Jones & Petrie, P.S. represented
the families of 8 passengers who perished near Chichen Itza in
Southern Mexico in the crash of the Czechoslovakian built aircraft
flown by a Mexican airline. They were on a "flightseeing" shore
excursion from their Holland America Caribbean Cruise when the
crash occurred. The litigation involved the filing of lawsuits in
the State of Washington and also in Florida, but Krutch, Lindell, Bingham, Jones & Petrie, P.S.
attorneys were able to obtain substantial pre-trial confidential
settlements for each of the Firm's clients.
- When an El Al cargo plane lost an engine and crashed into an
apartment building in the Netherlands City of Amsterdam, killing
and injuring a number of people, Krutch, Lindell, Bingham, Jones & Petrie, P.S., in association
with several Dutch law firms, represented several injured victims
and the surviving family members of a number of those killed in the
crash.
