Attorney Beck started in private practice in 1980 and immediately took on a medical malpractice case which arose out of a notorious criminal case involving a nurse who overdosed a cancer patient with "enough morphine to kill an elephant". Attorney Beck sued thirteen healthcare providers and the hospital. That case settled prior to trial. Later it was made into a television movie.
