Wayne M. Willoughby
Wayne M. Willoughby has over 17 years experience representing victims of medical malpractice. He is rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell® for professional competence and ethics. These ratings are derived from a survey of bar members and the judiciary.
Through his appellate advocacy, Attorney Willoughby has participated in cases that have expanded the rights of the injured. One of his appellate cases established the rights of medical malpractice victims in the District of Columbia to hold negligent physician-employees of the District legally responsible even when the deadline has expired for suing their employer. Another case established the right of brain damaged infants to receive funds for future life care expenses, even though their parents’ claim for those expenses was barred by the statute of limitations.
