Mr. Litwin, the Managing Attorney, is a Certified Specialist in Immigration and Nationality law, certified by the California State Bar, Board of Legal Specialization.
LITWIN & ASSOCIATES, A Law Corporation specializes in the esoteric and complex area of Immigration and Nationality Law. The Firm is nationally known for its expertise and notably high success rate, and has the privilege of representing a number of large, multi-national companies. However, approximately 40% of its clientele are individual clients. The Firm's diverse services emphasize business immigration (including work visas, labor certifications, and permanent residence) and family immigration (including spouse and relative visa petitions), along with many other immigration matters.
The firm handles cases in the following:
- Employment – Nonimmigrant and immigrant visas
- Family – Immediate relatives and others
- Green Cards
- Naturalization
- I-9 Compliance and worksite enforcement
- PERM
- Labor Certifications
- Fiance (e) Visas
- Investor Visas
- Expedited Green Cards
- J, O and P Visas
- E- Visas
Much of the Firm's work concentrates in the area of labor certifications. After more than 30 years of experience, and many hundreds of labor certification applications, the Firm's attorneys have essentially, a near 100% approval rate, a record unequaled among immigration law firms. This record of success reflects the expertise, quality of work, and extra time that is put into each case.
The Firm is currently comprised of four attorneys – Edward R. Litwin, Donald E. Smith, and Angela C. Mapa, and Marc M. Yelnick – and proficient support staff, with offices in San Francisco, South San Francisco, and Santa Clara, California. The Firm strives to provide personal attention and quality work products that our individual and corporate clients expect and deserve.
Using the expertise and experience which we have obtained for over 30 years, we provide consultations and services to corporations and individuals. We have worked with small to Fortune 500 companies who seek advice on meeting their employment needs through immigration, and protecting themselves from fines and penalties from I-9 violations and improper public access files. We assist individuals who may be already or wish to be employed in the United States or who may desire to petition for spouses or other family members.
Languages spoken include Spanish, Tagalog and Mandarin.

There are three options available to get your immigration questions answered. Some are free.
Option A – In person, (or occasionally by telephone) half hour (or more) initial consultation. This is normally the preferred option. It gives you the opportunity to provide background information and explain your immigration issues, case, and or questions. Any information that needs further clarification or more detail can be asked for by the attorney at the same time. Then, the attorney can give you the best advice, work out the best strategy, and based on all the information, if more legal work needs to be done, quote you a fee (normally a flat-rate fee). A flat-rate fee is optimal then you will know what the total fees will be. In addition, you will be given an estimate as to the filing fees or other costs that you can expect. The fee for an initial consultation is $150.00 and most people think this is a very reasonable fee for the amount of information you will receive.
Option B – A free ten-minute telephone call to answer questions that are relatively simple and do not involve complex issues. This consultation would normally be most appropriate when you have already done some research and just have a few more questions. This option is not usually appropriate for employment-based questions or issues, complex family matters, or naturalization issues involving criminal matters, lengthy trips outside of the United States, etc. By the end of the telephone call, you will either have your questions answered or conclude that the issues or questions require more than ten minutes to receive an adequate answer. If the latter, then a full consultation needs to be scheduled. If you choose Option B, please fill out the questionnaire, email it to my office (mentioning “Option B”), then call 866-632-1493 to schedule an appointment asking for an “Option B” telephone call.
Questions For Option B, fill out the questionnaire Please type “OPTION B” (telephone call) in the subject line.
Option C – If you have one or two questions that can be answered by a short email response, please email your questions using the form on this page. Please type “OPTION C” in the subject line.
If your question is about someone who is in custody, is in deportation proceedings, has been arrested and has an immigration hold or is seeking asylum, we do not handle these matters, and you should contact an immigration lawyer who focuses on those specific issues.
