Client was involved in a two car auto accident, client was rear ended causing client's car to flip over onto it's roof. Client received severe injuries and was hospitalized. Defendant's insurance company denied the extent of injuries. The case was difficult as it required a large amount of investigation and documentation to illustrate client's injuries. Criminal Defense/Drug Crime Cases

Perry Hudson is the only Attorney in the State of Oklahoma to have three clients released or exonerated that were on death row.

James Fisher(CF-83-137): Mr. Fisher was charged with capital murder. He was tried, convicted and sentenced to death twice, in 1983 and in 2005; both convictions were later overturned for ineffective assistance of trial counsel. Mr. Hudson assumed defense of Mr. Fisher for his third trial. After convincing the District Attorney that there was a strong likelihood that Mr. Fisher would be found innocent at trial, the DA offered a plea bargain that Mr. Fisher accepted. As a result, Mr. Fisher has been released after 27 years in prison. Case was mentioned in the Daily Oklahoman, the New York Times and other prominent publications.

Curtis Edward McCarty (CF-85-2637): Mr. McCarty was charged with Capital Murder. Mr. McCarty had been twice tried, convicted and sentenced to death, but each time his convictions were overturned due to legal errors which occurred during his trials. Mr. McCarty had spent nearly 20 years on Oklahoma's death row prior to Mr. Hudson taking over his representation. Mr. Hudson represented Mr. McCarty during his third trial, and, along with co-counsel, was able to obtain a dismissal of Mr. McCarty's case. Mr. McCarty exited prison as free man.

Michael Chavez (CF-09-1475): Mr. Chavez was charged with one count of Rape in the First Degree and one count of Lewd or Indecent Acts with a Child Under Sixteen. Mr. Chavez faced up to life in prison on the rape charge as well as the requirement of registering a sex offender for the rest of his life. Mr. Chavez was acquitted of all charges at the conclusion of the jury trial.

Yancy Douglas (CF-93-3926): Mr. Douglas was charged with Capital Murder. Mr. Douglas had been previously tried, convicted and sentenced to death. Mr. Douglas' conviction was overturned due to legal error which occurred during his trial, and he was returned to Oklahoma County to again stand trial. Mr. Hudson represented Mr. Douglas during his second trial. Prior to trial, Mr. Hudson was able to obtain an agreed upon dismissal of Mr. Douglas’ case. In less than six months after Mr. Perry began to represent Mr. Douglas, Mr. Douglas exited prison as a free man after having spent 16 years in prison,.

Rodolfo Mejorado Rodriquez (CF-05-6329): Mr. Rodriquez was charged with Trafficking Heroin. Mr. Rodriquez had allegedly possessed more heroin than had ever been seized in a non-border drug bust. In fact, the Oklahoma City Police Department's Impact Team won two national awards for the seizure in Mr. Rodriquez's case. However, Mr. Hudson, along with co-counsel, was able to have the evidence in Mr. Rodriquez's case suppressed due to an illegal search and seizure. As a result, Mr. Rodriquez's case was dismissed.

Samuel Dale Holmes (CF-02-666): Mr. Holmes was charged with Murder I and Possession of a Firearm After Former Conviction of a Felony. Mr. Holmes was facing a minimum sentence of life in prison if convicted of the murder charge. Mr. Holmes was acquitted of all charges at the conclusion of the jury trial.
