Attorney Douglas Buxbaum

In 1992, Doug Buxbaum established what has evolved into Buxbaum, Daue, & Fitzpatrick as a plaintiff's firm. Prior to that, Doug was a partner at the Law Firm of Poore, Roth and Robinson. Doug specializes in medical malpractice, product liability and serious personal injury cases. Doug has developed a subspecialty in catastropic birth injury and neonatal issues.

Doug has been involved in some of Montana’s largest medical negligence, and wrongful death cases. He also has extensive experience with Federal Tort Claims practice arising out of substandard health care to recipients of public health care.

Doug is a frequent speaker and lecturer in continuing legal education and enjoys the highest (AV) rating from Martindale Hubbell. He is listed as one of the Best Lawyers in America and is a member of the American and Montana bar associations and Montana Trial Lawyers Association.
 

Attorney E. Craig Daue

Craig Daue is a graduate of the University of Montana School of Law and has practiced litigation and trial law in Missoula since 1977. Craig’s practice has been focused on the field of personal injury litigation. Craig defended doctors, nurses and hospitals for 15 years before leaving his defense practice in 1998. Craig has since concentrated on representing clients who have been injured by substandard medical care, defective drugs and medical devices, and in cases involving hospital and nursing home liability and other severe personal injury and wrongful death. Since joining with Doug Buxbaum in 2000, Craig has litigated and resolved hundreds of claims involving Fen-Phen injuries, numerous medical malpractice cases as well as some of the largest recoveries for wrongful death in Montana. Craig is a longstanding member of the Montana State Bar, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the American Bar Association Section of Litigation and the Western Montana Bar Association. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Montana Trial Lawyers Association, is on their education committee and served as the president in 2009-2010. Craig also chaired the Supreme Court Commission on Paralegal Practice.
 

Attorney John M. Fitzpatrick

John Fitzpatrick joined a plaintiffs’ practice in 1998 that has since evolved into Buxbaum, Daue, & Fitzpatrick.

He has extensive experience in personal injury cases and also practices in medical malpractice, product liability and insurance bad faith.

John graduated from the University of Montana School of Law in 1996 with highest honors. John is an inductee of national academic honor societies Phi Theta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. In law school, John received the Weymouth D. Symmes Award for Appellate Advocacy; the Norman Hanson Legal Writing Award; the Wall Street Journal Student Achievement Award and; The Orville Grey Memorial Award.

Before joining the firm John practiced in Billings with Crowley, Haughey, Hanson, Toole & Dietrich. He is recognized as one of Montana’s outstanding lawyers. John is a member of the Montana State Bar, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, American Bar Association and Western Montana Bar Association.

John is an avid fisherman and an Assistant Coach of the Bonner Little Guy Wrestling Club.


Attorney Stephanie Kucera

Stephanie Carsten Kucera, PhD, JD, Stephanie Kucera joined the firm after graduating from the University of Montana School of Law in May, 2011. She is licensed to practice in State and Federal Court in Montana. Prior to attending law school, Stephanie earned her Ph.D. in Behavioral Neuroscience and worked in clinical development for Amylin Pharmaceuticals in San Diego, California. She and her husband returned to Montana in 2007 when Stephanie became the Development Director of the Brain Injury Association of Montana, and worked as a post-doctoral clinical neuropsychologist with the NeuroDevelopment Center out of Salt Lake City, Utah. Stephanie loves to cook, and enjoys trail running, skiing and biking with her family.
