In 1997 Mr. Der Manuelian began opening ed his law offices, with the first one in San Mateo, California where he began representing clients who had been injured in accidents arising from car accidents, dog bites, slips and falls, defective products, and medical and dental malpractice. He quickly discovered that he was able to settle cases that other attorneys would not take because they were too challenging and cases that other attorneys would have to take to trial to get a recovery. His intimate familiarity with the insurance companies coupled with the fact that he personally knew many of the claims adjusters in charge of handling claims for the insurance companies opened doors to settlement that were closed to other attorneys.
