Mark Briggs has been in private practice since 1996 and handling child welfare (CPS) cases since 1997. He has handled bench and jury trials as lead counsel. He has also handled appeals to the Eighth Court of Appeals in El Paso, Texas. Mr. Briggs is licenced to practice in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Briggs has represented parents, grandparents, relatives and children in child welfare cases. He has represented parents in the administrative process within the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. He also represents parents and others who are under investigation by TDFPS. Mr. Briggs has also represented Native-American tribes and tribal members in child welfare cases involving the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA).
