To be a licensed business in a particular state the business must incorporate in some fashion. Creating a corporation is not the only way to incorporate, although the standard C Corporation is the most common way to incorporate a business. Today, however, a business can incorporate technically as a limited liability company, a partnership or a sole proprietorship.
