Strong Defense is Important to Your Case:
Individuals convicted of a crime whether through their own admission of guilt or through the determination of a jury are subject to fines, imprisonment, probation and community service, among other penalties in Florida. For example, a plea of No Contest in a Domestic Violence or a felony case will usually end a career for someone in the military, even if the adjudication of guilt is withheld. Defending your criminal case in the strongest possible way is critical to your freedom and your future.

The outcome of any criminal case depends upon the facts surrounding the crime charged, the strength of the evidence, the legal validity of law enforcement actions, courtroom procedure and the goals and strategy of both the government and defense. Attorney Stephen G. Cobb will navigate you through this complicated legal process.

Getting Results in Criminal Cases:
Stephen G. Cobb has the experience and skills necessary to get the results his clients need, as evidenced by the following verdicts:

  • Case Number 97-CFSA-1187: Our client was charged with two counts of Capital Sexual Battery on a Child Under Twelve. The State amended the Information of Indictment to add two additional counts of Lewd & Lascivious Act on a Child under Sixteen. Our client faced two life sentences plus 30 years. After a four-day jury trial, he was found Not Guilty by an all woman jury panel.
  • Case Number 05-MMCA-206: Case dismissed for a client charged with one count of Open House Party, a misdemeanor.
  • Case Number 06-MMSA-209: Case dismissed for a client falsely charged with Domestic Violence (Battery).
  • Case Number 05-CFSA-1780: Case dismissed for a client charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, a third degree felony, because the controlled substance was lawfully possessed with a valid prescription.
  • Case Number 05-CFSA-819-02: Case dismissed for a client charged with Felony Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer and misdemeanor Possession of Alcohol by a Person Under Age 21. Batteries involving certain officials such as police officers are enhanced felonies and extremely dangerous. The client, however, had some favorable witnesses and no prior record.
  • Case Number 05-MMSA-676: Not guilty verdict for a client who was attacked in a shopping center parking lot by a teenager (out of a group of four) who didn't like his son. The client was arrested for supposedly injuring the attacker. At trial, it was revealed that the attacker sought thousands of dollars for medical bills supposedly caused by the client's attack, but the officer testified that the 'injury' was too slight to even photograph and that the teenager declined medical care at the scene.
