MEMBERS OF THE FIRM:
Linda S. Vanden Heuvel
Linda Vanden Heuvel devotes a majority of her practice to representing individuals involved in family law disputes. She has practiced family law for over 20 years representing parties in cases involving divorce, collaborative divorce, cooperative divorce, legal separation, annulments, mediation, custody and placement, maintenance, child support, property division, guardianships, adoption, grandparents rights, paternity, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, post-judgment modifications, domestic abuse restraining orders, etc. She has served as a Guardian ad Litem on behalf of minor children and incapacitated adults. Linda is a skilled litigator, but also has the ability to negotiate favorable settlements on behalf of her clients. She saves her clients time, money and emotional distress through settlement negotiations, but is an exemplary litigator with the ability to effectively litigate cases if settlement efforts fail. Linda is skilled at handling complex divorces including large estates, contentious custody/placement disputes and property division litigation. Linda Vanden Heuvel also regularly practices in the area of personal injury. Linda litigated one of Washington County’s largest personal injury cases, a 5.9 million dollar award on behalf of a sixteen year old girl critically injured in a West Bend, Wisconsin, automobile accident. As a personal injury lawyer, Linda sees the human side; the injured bodies, the broken bones, the emotional trauma. Linda recognizes that an injury to one person injures the whole family. Linda works hard to obtain the compensation to which her clients are entitled after being involved in a personal injury accident. Cases are handled by Linda personally, clients are kept informed of the status of their cases and every member of the firm works hard to recover the maximum amount of compensation for its clients, given the unique circumstances of each case.

Lisa M. Vanden Heuvel
Lisa Vanden Heuvel has practiced law in Wisconsin for 18 years and concentrates her practice in the areas of divorce, mediation, adoption, termination of parental rights, grandparent’s rights and paternity. She also regularly functions as a Guardian ad Litem in family law matters. Lisa’s compassionate understanding for her clients, coupled with her legal ability, makes her a strong advocate for her clients.
Lisa is also a trained mediator who believes that mediation is often a positive alternative to divorce. Mediation can ease the many challenges faced by couples separating their lives through the divorce process. Mediation often offers a positive, affordable alternative to adversarial divorce, custody, placement, support, property division or other family law disputes.
Lisa’s frequent work as a Guardian ad Litem on behalf of children also translates to her representation of clients in custody and placement cases not subject to mediation. She advises clients to realize that while divorce is frustrating and overwhelming for adults, it is even more challenging and emotionally distressing for children. Lisa believes that it is important, if at all possible, to resolve custody and placement battles quickly and peacefully to avoid turmoil for the children. If that is not possible, Lisa diligently fights for her client’s rights and the children’s best interests. She listens to your goals and provides informative guidance so that you are able to make the best decisions for you and your children.
In divorce, Lisa works to build a mutually satisfactory agreement between her client and his/her spouse. If that cannot be achieved, she is a tenacious and aggressive litigator who fights to achieve her client’s needs regarding custody, placement, child support, maintenance and property division. She is able to define key points and potential pitfalls when negotiating a division of assets including retirement funds, stock options and real estate.
When you are involved in a family law dispute, you need a strong and capable advocate to protect your interests. Lisa is such an advocate, but is also compassionate and caring, qualities that almost all of her clients mention throughout the divorce process. Even the friendliest divorce can require careful planning, and Lisa is available for a free initial consultation to address your concerns.
Lisa's litigation experience in family law matters transfers over into representation of clients in traffic and drunk driving related cases. Because of Lisa’s five year tenure as a Racine County Deputy Sheriff, she has a vast range of knowledge and experience in these areas.
