Social Security law involves the whole process of determining benefits to people in various stages or circumstances of life. It also involves issues related to taxes paid into the system by people and businesses. The program seeks to provide benefits to people upon retirement, based in part upon how much money that person and his or her employer have paid into the system. However, Social Security law also involves determinations of benefits for injured and disabled people who may not yet have reached retirement age.
