A polygraph is a fairly old piece of equipment designed to measure certain bodily changes that can occur when a person is questioned about a particular matter. It is often called a lie-detector. Modern innovations have improved the accuracy of the polygraph. However, it is generally not considered to be fool-proof. Therefore, results from these machines can be used as evidence in a trial, but not as complete proof that a person did some particular act.
