Product liability law involves a range of issues related to whether an item sold by a company is inherently dangerous or otherwise defective. Beyond this, product liability law will not impose damages against a company unless the plaintiff can also show that the injury he or she suffered was related to the particular defect or inherently dangerous nature of the item. Lawyers who defend companies often allege that the item was used improperly or against the printed instructions for its use. Many case of this nature end up as large class action lawsuits with many plaintiffs.
