Appellate Court Lawyers
An
appellate court hears appeals from a lower judicial body or a governmental agency. Lawyers who specialize in this work typically represent people at trial as well, though there are some lawyers who limit their practice to appellate court. The highest judicial body for bringing appeals is the Supreme Court. However, most cases cannot proceed directly from the lower judiciary straight to this supreme decision maker and must first be appealed through all the state or federal judiciary levels.
