Actos
With over 20 million Americans suffering from Type-2 Diabetes, medications like Actos will continue to become more popular. However, the FDA has added Actos to its watch list on January 31, 2011 for further study into its side effects. Drugs that are similar to Actos, like Avandia, have caused severe heart issues, including death. Some Actos side effects include broken or fractured bones, higher risk of congestive heart failure, weight gain and swelling of limbs. Understandably, many patients feel like the are victims of Actos.
While there has not been a formal recall of Actos, there have been recalls of similar products. For example, Avandia, was recently banned in Europe and will be pulled from the entire New Zealand market.
