Whistleblower Attorney
A whistleblower attorney is generally a plaintiff’s lawyer who brings lawsuits on behalf of an employee or group of employees to allege discrimination or other forms of illegal activity. A whistleblower attorney may have clients with classic civil rights claims based on race, sex, age or gender. He or she may also take cases relating to environmental law matters or financial matters. In some cases, called qui tam cases, the lawyer may represent someone who was not personally injured by the alleged conduct, but who has standing to sue on behalf of the U.S. government.
