Small Business
Small business refers generally to a business with fewer than fifty employees or revenues less than one million dollars. However, there are all types of small business variations. Therefore, small is a relative term. And, of course, often a small business will grow and become a large business. A small business can have legal issues very different than a larger business. And, for a small business, one legal issue can severely damage the business in ways that it would not damage a large company. A small business lawyer can be invaluable in helping to plan, start and grow a business that is initially small in size. A lawyer often provides a more personal level of service to a company and often seeks to provide so-called proscriptive services—designed to help the business avoid pitfalls and problems that could create major upheavals.
