Identity Theft Protection
Identity theft protection is a strategy people use to avoid the damages that can occur to one’s personal finances when personal information is stolen. Many issuers of bank cards and credit cards offer programs designed to prevent such damages or limit the extent of the injury. Generally, these programs allow for quickly canceling accounts, tracing unauthorized purchases and refunding money charged without authorization. Identity theft protection plans also must involve getting new credit cards, new driver’s license or state ID card and filing police reports. When taking these actions, speed is often a key to limiting damages.
