Franchise Consulting
Franchise consulting is a business that is sometimes done by lawyers experienced in franchise law. However, other times a franchise consultant is not a lawyer, but rather an experienced franchise owner who can provide consulting to a new franchisee—a person buying a franchise. Franchise consulting is centered around helping the franchisee understand how to best operate the business and make a profit. Generally, unless the person offering franchise consulting is also an attorney, he or she cannot provide counsel about negotiating the franchise agreement, state law compliance issues, or about legal issues related to forming the underlying business entity that will buy the franchise.
